It depends on how low your blood pressure is - overall a lower blood pressure is a good thing and most people on here usually struggle with high blood pressure.

Make sure you are drinking enough, fluid that is, and a balance and healthy diet. You may find this is enough for your body to stabilise. I had chronic low blood pressure after one of my surgeries however, within 3-4 months my body had adapted and my blood pressure is now normal.

Do you find your low blood pressure is affecting you? If not then I’d not worry about it. Looking after your liver and general health is the most important thing for you to do now and a bit of patience whilst your body heals.

Good luck and hopefully your quality of life will improve - Peter

Do you take any medication? My blood pressure is low due to taking furosemide and aldactone.

I only take acid tablets and cholesterol ones

Dr told me on the phone that liver controls the clotting of blood making the blood too thin, and my dad's blood was thin and he has low blood pressure too. Maybe related..but also his Kidneys started malfunctioning.

Sorry to ask but do you know if people get low blood pressure when you have cirrhosis

Yes, cirrhosis causes changes in your blood haemodynamics. Typical profile of a cirrhosis patient is low blood pressure (systolic /diastolic pressure) and a high heart rate (tachycardia, heart rate of 90 beats per minute or more). There's a silver lining. Now that you know that cirrhosis caused your low blood pressure, keep track of it. Then, as your cirrhosis improves, you can use your blood pressure as a kind of sneak peak into the progression/regression of your liver disease. Best of luck to you!
