A Happy Rebirthday message from Jaycee.

Many of you may remember Jaycee. She used to be a frequent contributor on this site. She has asked me to pass on a message.

On this day in 2019, at the ripe young age of 68, Jaycee underwent her liver transplant

The months leading up to that transplant was indeed a worrying time, full of uncertainties and worries for not only her but her whole family. Being a member of this forum, she found comfort, companionship and guidance. Now at the age of seventy, she is celebrating this special day (we call this a re-birthday) with fond memories of you all.

Jaycee wanted to pass on this message of gratitude to all who both got to know her, and who helped her along her liver journey. Seeing the sun shining as it is this morning, thoughts of her doner a lovely Welsh lady I understand is very much on her mind.

She also wanted this to be a message of hope for all those people in their senior years, not to give up, age need not be a barrier. Thank you to everyone who supported Jaycee through that difficult time. She really is most grateful to you all, and misses the friendship.

Happy Rebirthday Jaycee, and many more to come.

Belated Happy Rebirth wishes and thank you Richard for sharing this with us. For me and I am sure many others this is so encouraging especially as this time next week we shall be at St James Leeds for my husband’s assessment.

Thks for that Richard pls pass on my best wishes for her 70th and her 2 yr liverversary . Glad to c her looking so well. I had my transplant almost 2 yrs ago at the age of 64 . X

I was aged 63, coming up to being five years ago now. The only downside was that I had my transplant carried out at the QE Birmingham.

Not many people may realise this, but the next train stop after the University is Bournville. the home of Cadbury's chocolate. I swear blind that my donor used to work there as I now have what I'm convinced is a transplanted chocolate addiction for which I believe there is no known cure.

THANK YOU for sharing. All of your kind messages and responses have given me hope as I have an appointment on the 12th of April with an area transplant team for an assessment. I am 57 and was taken aback when my Gastroenterologist said the 'T' word and gave me a referral after test results last week.
