Hi all, looking for a little reassurance, which I’m aware you can’t really give😔....ex heavy drinker, most recent blood test shows everything tickety boo except bilirubin which has raised from 12 to 21😬....ultrasound showed nothing of concern...but of course I’m absolutely terrified. Dr has said just to redo bloods in 4 weeks to see if it’s changed...not sure I can deal with the anxiety that long...already dropped 2kgs in the last 10 days with the worry. Gahhhhhhhhh!!!

Bilirubin at 21......
Doctor is on the ball repeating your bloods in a few weeks time. As all other tests are ok it sounds like something is causing a build up of bilirubin, this could be something as simple as a gall stone blocking bile ducts and this might also tally with some of your earlier symptoms with the intermittant abdominal pains etc.

Try not to get too anxious, you are only going to make yourself more poorly when it might be something very simple and easily treated.

Thanks Katie, yes - I’m trying very hard to keep eating & active. Will be hopefully easier next week with schools back and more routine. Does anyone know if hunger/prior exercise can raise bilirubin...before the blood test in question I hadn’t eaten for 13 hours and had just done a 5k.....#grasping at straws here!!
