I’m currently sick, possibly covid still waiting for more tests. I used to be in love with pho soup especially cuz I hate chicken noodle but quit soup when I found out I have liver problems. Since I’m sick all I want is warm brothy soup but g don’t want to damage myself more as the horrible pains have already made me turn to Tylenol. Can anyone help shed some light on how potentially bad pho is or is it safe?

If you don't include the ingredients which are high in salt it should be fine for your liver.
Isn’t the broth itself the troubling thing when it comes to the sodium? I usually get vegetarian with no meat or noodles and lots of limes for flavor with either veggie or chicken broth.
If the salt/sodium is only in the broth/ stock then yes thats a problem. If you are making it yourself you can control the amount yourself?
Yea my homemade isn’t as good, probably because the less sodium lol and I’m a terrible cook. Oh well.
Hi Everything in moderation as my doctors would say, a bowl of delicious pho here and there would not hurt. After all it better than other takeaway fast foods.
I normally get the vegetable pho , it still delicious with the extra veggies for goodness 🙂
I think if it is low in sodium it should be ok perhaps there is a way that you can find out online how much sodium pho has in it and which ingredients are responsible for the sodium. I know a simple packet of noodles with a sauce base is very high in sodium and it should be avoided if you are trying to reduce your salt intake.
