ALT 200

I have no pain and not overweight but have had two blood tests and having a scan in two weeks. My ALT was 200 and platelets higher than should be and Eosinophils also higher than should be. I feel quite ok An day had only contacted dr for dreadful restless legs keeping me awake at night. Don’t drink never smoked, I did have pain in face few years back with nasal polyps so used paracetamol that’s all I can put this down to. I was told on second blood test the ALT had come down a bit.

Hi Smarter

My Alt went up to 192, I do have a large liver cyst but the hospital didn’t think it was due to that. Apparently inflammation elsewhere can cause that to increase, but they didn’t seem to worried about it. Also my AP went up at the same time.

I am having the scan in two weeks so should know what is happening. Thank you for your reply, are you still having blood tests to see if it is going down ?

I am, mine was fine when I went into hospital but started to elevate a day before I came out. Glad your getting a scan I had scans when I was admitted.

Hello Smarter,

There are many different things that can cause blood tests to elevate. It is not possible to reach a diagnosis of liver disease based on one blood test being elevated.

I would be reassured that your doctors have arranged a scan for you.

I have included a link to liver disease tests explained publication.
