Is that it?

I had cirrhosis diagnosed last year after a fibroscan. Since then I've heard nothing.

Is there anything I should be doing? I don't drink any more and am in fairly decent health with a good vegan diet. Aren't I supposed to get some follow up?

With a cirrhosis diagnosis the minimum you should be having is 6 monthly ultrasound scans and blood tests including AFP (Alpha feto protein). These are the NICE guidelines for managing cirrhosis guidelines.co.uk/liver-dise... .

The British Liver Trust 'Patient Charter' page will also show you what level of care you should expect. britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

Obviously the covid situation has affected out patient clinics big style this year but you might need to get a proactive and try and chase up a specialist appointment and tests.

Get onto your GP there’s no excuse for your scans, I was under a consultant for three years, then nothing for 10yrs kept moaning at my GP , oh they’ll be in touch if there’s a need.....no the consultant had retired, and no one had picked up my case.

I complained , and was told I must have been mistaken that I’d had a liver biopsy........mysteriously no records could be found , went for a just to keep you quite scan .........oh sorry your fibro score is 31 and you have cirrhosis. Get your scans every months.

Hi Dave One thing I would say in relation to diet maximise your protein intake.

Also with my fibroscan I was told there and then so you may want to speak to them

yes I would see a good liver dr. and find out as much as you can, find out what's next, what degree is your cirrhosis, find out what meds will help you, can't rid yourself of it completely but drinking is not your only problem...I was told I had cirrhosis and stage 3 fibrosis and a fatty liver, and after 18 mos. of a low carb diet and several tests and fibroscans and a liver biopsy I found I have stage 3 fibrosis and NO CIRRHOSIS so just don't take a single report for gospel, check it out find out what you need to do for you and stick with it, even if you have to have a transplant its better than doing nothing and waiting to die !!!!Let me know what they tell you and what you need from me !!!!! Let's go Dave5???? Ron
