Does anybody know what the average dose is of adoport post transplant ?

Hi Jugular1.

I think that the highest dose that I was on was around 14mg, I am now over 2 years post transplant and I'm right down to 1.5mg a day. It varies greatly from person to person.

There is no definitive answer because it seems to be a question about how your body re-acts to the Tacrolimus and if you have any adverse effects.

I have been on the same level for 18 months, 2x4mg and my latest blood results were perfect. So I am remaining on the level that works.

Hi, as others have said there is a lot of factors taken into consideration to determine dose. Directly after transplant I took 7mg twice daily but it really damaged my kidneys by 5 months post I was down to 1mg twice daily until this February, 3 years post when it was lowered to 0.5mg twice daily.The doctors look at your tac level to help determine dose. I also take 750mg mycophenolate so my adoprt tacrolimus dose can be kept low.

Hi i take 3mg of adoport a day and also 500mg of mycophenolate which seems 2 be working well 4 me. I wud think there is no specific amount it all depends on how well ur bloods r. Take care

Hi,

I think it very much depends on the person. I started at 3.5mg twice daily, and that had to be increased to 10 mg twice daily within two weeks. I remember being very worried because I hadn’t heard of anyone else having such a big dose.

A year on I am now at 5mg twice daily, which seems to be working for me.
