H, pylori

Anyone had this, I’m in so much pain all over my stomach, pressure pain, have sooo much acid coming up into my moth 24/7,I have autoimmune hep, on steriods for years, taking omperazole 20mg. I phoned the dr fri he refused to examine me, I told him I’ve never been given any tests for this reflux problem, and since he wouldn’t see me, I proceeded to say that I felt I needed a stool test, at the very least, so I’m having to give one on Monday, despite doing all the things regarding diet and sitting up straight to eat, nothing makes any difference: he has prescribed me peppermint oil caps, but I was under the impression they are for IBS, which I haven’t got, but for last two days I have had to empty my bowels on waking, which is a new symptom, wondered if anyone had h pylori as if I’ve got this correct it can cause stomach ulcers,

I’ve had severe pain, been in hospital 3 times. I had a scan and I have gallstones but when I was in hospital, they said my bloods didn’t show that my gallbladder was inflamed and if I was in this much pain it would be. My gastro has repeatedly asked my doctors to test me for H pylori and weeks later they have still failed to! I’m sending yet another email asking what the hell is going on tomorrow. I have constant pain! The only thing that is helping is co-codamol, and I have a phobia of painkillers but trust me they have been a godsend!

I don’t have any acid likely because I’ve been on lanzoprazole for 4 months. I have a burning, knawing pain like something is eating away at me. I this turns out to be H pylori I’m putting in a major complaint to the NHS, they could have and should have tested me months ago!

I really feel for you, my pain is a pressure pain everywhere in my stomach, the only way I can describe it is like being inflated, the acid is horrendous, I can’t concentrate, I have a coated grey tongue too, I’m very annoyed that dr won’t examine me, and feel it’s so wrong how he can prescribe peppermint oil caps, and not even see me, I look and feel half the woman I was so tired all the time, I have like a gnawing pain when hungry horrible feeling, I have a real feeling I have a stomach ulcer

I had similar problems with stomach ( pain through to back couldn't sleep and didn't want to eat) during lockdown. Short story came of everything and reintroduced slowly (gastroenterologist knew but wasn't happy)and it was omeprazole weirdly. I have Aih/pbc 15 years on meds. I now take liquid antacid very occasionally.

Do you mean it was omperazole that was upsetting your stomach, I’m trying to do a little bit similar, I haven’t had my breakfast as yet but sitting here thinking what I can have, darent have seeded bread anymore, so I’m thinking maybe boiled eggs, Ru in U.K..? I have AIH 13 years on all meds,

Yes uk. Yes omeprazole. I had tried diet, small portions etc. Couldn't face eating due to the pain that occurred and lasted so long. Took it after couple of weeks as had acid and it blew my stomach up and so uncomfortable. Did it again same thing. So liquid antacid when I do get acid. Azathioprine/prednisone is the cause of my stomach not being happy but can't get bloods under control without. So its trial and error. If I have seeds, fatty foods they trigger.

I don’t think mines the omperazole doing it, yes I’m on Aza 50mg and pred 5mg, yes I found that out the other day seeds send me rushing to toilet, I also have fatty liver too,

I never thought it would be the omeprazole as its opposite of what it for. But been off it 8 weeks now 🤞. I have no knowledge of fatty liver but I assume it will give you problems. Hpylori should definitely be explored.

Yes, I was so surprised when told I had fatty liver as silly me thought it was something that only people who drank alcohol got, and I don’t drink, so yes I try to eat healthy and I loved my chocolate but I’ve cut that out, sob! sob! I will be pushing for all the tests going, as this has been going on a long time and I need to find out,

Have you ever been prescribed ant biotic for your h. Pylori? I had this years ago which lead to a duodenal ulcer. Was given anti biotic. Cured. Suggest you seek medical advice if anti biotic not already ruled out for some reason.

Hi peter, it’s me that is thinking could it be H pylori! Simply as I’m in a lot of pain, I’ve got to take stool sample to drs in the morning, so I guess will find out when get results back,

Im going for an endoscopy soon, my GI tecons i could have an ulcer (possibly caused by Hpylori)

I have RUQ pain going into shoulderblade but i thought it was fatty liver. I cured my fatty liver but still have the pain.

We will see what the endoscopy/ Hpylori test says

Hey ruby! Any updates? Have you looked at SIBO or SIFO as a potential reason?

RubyWoo,

Here’s my story. I’ve had h.pylori multiple times which resulted in a gastro tumor called GIST. GIST are rare but can be very dangerous. And added bonus was that I developed pancreatic cysts which are harbingers of cancer in other areas of the body according to some doctors. My liver issues were discovered at the same time and I also began having gallbladder attacks.

That sounds awful. Poor you

I was lucky than most. My GIST was larger than expected but benign at that point. Usually greater than 2cm returns a malignant diagnoses.
