Hi Annie. The itching is a nightmare but I got told off a consultant to use calamine lotion and to take one anti-histamine in the Early evening So by bedtime it’s in your system, please check with your Doctor. It work for me xx
I'm 3 years post-transplant and I have bouts of intense itching that lasts anywhere between 2 and 3 weeks. It then disappears for a month or 2 and then comes back with a vengeance.
The most frustrating part is waking up at 3am scratching the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands. Sometimes even the inside of my lips!
I was told it's a bile issue a little while back. I'm on medication to thin out my bile (ursodoxycholic acid). I'm not sure there is too much I can do about it. I've never tried an antihistamine. Maybe I should, but the stange thing is, I'm quite used to it coming and going now.
