Fatty Liver—new & nervous

Hi, I’m gabby and actually from the US. I got diagnosed with fatty liver and am a hypochondriac. I do get some discomfort on my right side at times and my back. Some say it’s my gallbladder or IBS, Because it’s especially near my period or after eating bad foods. I feel it has gone down significantly and my drs say I have nothing to worry about but I am still nervous as I’m only 27.

Anyone have any suggestions or feel this way?

Also have hypothyroid if that links?

Thanks!

Hi Gg1993

I myself is 24 and last year diagonised with Fatty liver .

My advice to u that If the pain persist for long time then you should go for the LFT test and Ultrasound of Full abdomen . Until then starting walk for 30 min a days and avoid fatty food .

Thank you!

I did have a full abdomen ultrasound which is how I found out about my Fatty Liver. I went to see my specialist and she didn’t recommend much. The full ache has went away significantly with diet and exercise but will it ever permanently?

I was found to have fatty liver in my 30s - I’m now 52. I do take a statin. I also developed a couple of gallbladder stones and that’s where my pain comes from if I eat anything fatty. So stick to a low fat diet and exercise and you’ll find a great improvement. I also have bile acid malabsorption which causes diarrhoea which gets worse when I have my period. I do find that strange!
