After years of icu visits regularly and life support the transplant team have ramped up the testing to prepare for a full liver transplant. An emotional journey for sure. Trying to be hopeful but nervous too

Thank you, I know God is on my side and has pulled me through so many near death situations but somehow I forget so easily. I will remain strong

Hi it is a worrying time when u know u have to have a transplant. I was in total shock when i was told didn't realise my liver was that bad. Luckily I didn't wait long and it happened very quickly for which i was very grateful for. Now a year later i can look back and realise how ill i was. Take care and keep well while u wait.

Thanks that does help. I am hopeful but don’t want to die yet. My blood disorder complicates it for them but quicker is better as I wouldn’t be able to overthink.

Hi there, that is excellent news; my advice would be to remain strong & as healthy as you possibly can. Good luck

I have been on the transplant list since Dec 2019 & continue to remain positive & focused.

Thanks I will work at eating well and staying focused. Not sure how long it will take. I’m not sure if everyone is waiting for the complete liver or a partial? Not sure how that works. I know for me it is the bile ducts that were damaged so I need the whole package

Try not to worry about it and look forward to a new life.

When I was first diagnosed with liver cancer, I thought it was the end of my life, until my consultant explained I could have a LT if they could control the tumours until the op with TACE.

Had my TP over 4 yrs ago, and now I feel I am reborn, I feel fit as a fiddle and pursuing more interests than I ever been involved in. Fishing, walking, photography, painting and cooking, living life to the full.

I was 66 when I had the op now I am 70 feeling like a 40 yr old.
