Thank you for your replies and concerns. I'm 70 and on lock down due to the jolly old virus. I have kept dutifully to the' stay at home ' rules and only go out for my fortnightly blood tests. I suffer from severe post op. fatigue which doesn't help. I had my op. in Feb. and came out only two days before lockdown and now I am feeling extremely depressed. It was wonderful to have the op. But the euphoria has since disipated and it's getting worse now that everybody is going out and about but it's still a risk for me because of I get it, it's curtains. It doesn't help that I've got sleep apnoea .How do others feel about this situation that we seem to be in.

Hi Lounging sofa.

I am also shielded and left my home for the first time in 12 weeks today. I was out for about an hour.

It's not easy. We have a grandson who we have not seen since lockdown, he will be 2 years old in a few days time and my wife and I won't be able to see him on the day even though he only lives 4 miles away.

I have managed to keep myself busy with working in the garden and the weather just lately has been a bonus. It's obviously harder for you to keep busy as your op is fairly recent. My transplant was 21 months ago. Although I've managed to fall and break my back twice since then and so have spent a lot of my time indoors.

We just have to remember that the staying at home advice is for our own good and it's the safest place to be.

The numbers for the virus are well into a downward curve now in this country and hopefully with the new track and trace system, if everybody sticks to what they should or shouldn't be doing then the situation will carry on improving and then hopefully before too many more months we will be back to some kind of normality.

So rest up and recover fully from your op, there will be good times ahead.

Very best wishes.

Alf

Hi loungingsofa

Brilliant name. Love it. I sometimes (very often) feel like your name. However it would be good if you could sometimes get off that blooming sofa!

I had transplant 3 yrs ago and must admit that during lockdown I was a bit too gung ho and possibly put myself at risk. I live in a bit of France which has seen little covid🤞so have not been that put out by the restrictions. Infact the information from my transplant centre was simply to wear a mask!

I can only suggest that now, if you want to, you take baby steps, going outside When there are few people around. You might then like to have a drive around, if you don’t drive pls ask someone. As I said, baby steps

Lots of love

Thanks Isabelle for your reply. Yes, you're right, I do spend too much time lying on the sofa. Having been in lock down since the 5th March when I came out of hospital. As I have said, my biggest problem is fatigue, I can only do activities for 15 to 20 minutes then I have to have a rest. I've only got a courtyard garden and it gets very boring walking round and round. I also walk around the the car park opposite my house, but that's equally as monotonous. On top of that I fell over on returning from a recent blood test at my local hospital and badly bruised my knee and the left hand side of my chest. Good job it wasn't the right hand side !!!! I've been told to remain in lock down until June 30th. By the way, my Nick name comes from my rock band, 'Sad Old Facts Anonymous' although I have to admit that sofa lounging is favourite occupation at the moment. Cheers.

Ok then Nick what do you have in your cupboards? You may not be able to excercise now but at least you can eat a bit more healthily. What’s more I believe that deliveries are far more easy now. I hope you are now feeling better, if not there are a lot of companies who can deliver ready made meals.

I hope you are feeling better
