I just cannot sleep or rest. COCO Channel thankyou so much for your responses. My bloods are being done tomorrow but the pain under my right rib wont go away. As I said fatty liver last year, been heavily drinking for years prior to and since. Im so scared that I will end up hospitalised or with only a few years to live. the internet (I know ) Is not wise but im so desperate to know. Can you have pain with ARLD and it not be cirrhosis? also, did anyone have severe pain and, when they quit it went away? with Not drinking every again!

Petrified :-( :-( :-(

Hi

Just a brief note to wish you luck for tomorrow but its understandable that your not sleeping which seems to be a common symptom with many on here.

I see that Coco Channel has been advising you who’s a lovely soul and understands your struggles and having a fatty liver can cause discomfort when trying to lye in bed.

Anyway I’m not here to lecture you because this is NOT who we are as you already know.

Well its time for you to try and rest if thats possible, maybe watch a late movie, read a book or listen to your favourite music which sometimes can help.

Hope all goes well x

that's so kind, I can tell she's a lovely soul already, there are clearly so many on here! iv got myself ten feet under already, just so scared and full of regret about what I ahev done to my body for so long. I fear its too late and I have read that you only live 10 years if you need a transplant :-(

Nope that's not true for liver transplants, I have met people who had transplants over 20 years ago

I dont know about other organ transplants

Your so so so wrong on the 10 year transplant . One of my best friends had her transplant 27 years ago and she’s still working full time travelling all over the UK with her stressful job, so please behave and stop stressing. Also there are others on here with stage 4 cirrhosis and still advising even when suffering 24/7 in pain. However I do know all would love the opportunity to turn back the clock and lived life differently without alcohol.

All I’m going say is whatever happens tomorrow good or bad results, your the only one at the end of the day that can improve your life, but remember this your not doing it alone.

Nighty nite x

She’s a he 😀

Yes, I had quite nasty pain going up to right shoulder and also twinges in the abdomen area. I’m sure a lot of my alcohol-related aches and pains were acid reflux and just general poor condition.

The “problem” is these pains did ease off when I stopped drinking for a week or two, so I started again. Two weeks off every few months isn’t enough to cure a fatty liver, so if I’d continued on that cycle, I reckon I would’ve ended up with some thing more serious in a few years.

Oh and part of the anxiety must be due to recently quitting and your body wanting its daily fix. That’s why quitting’s so hard, but it gets easier within weeks.

You have been so reassuring thankyou again ! Frustratingly I went to have bloods today but was not told to fast, so rebooked in for Friday. I haven't drunk for a week but my pain is still sore around my liver, also (sorry for TMI) but im drinking loads of water and my urine is not as light as it should be, is this normal when you give up alcohol? (or was it for you) xx

Hi

I'm sorry you are struggling. I wish you all the very best wishes with your bloods. My liver disease was caused by meds from my drs over the years but I do understand that drinking in excess can end up as an illness and you have my full support. I have pain under my rib when it was fatty liver, then Nash and then compensated cirrhosis. My consultant told me that my liver is so enlarged it stretches the capsule around it which causes the pain as the capsule has nerve endings which the liver doesn't. Davianne also has the same problem. Anyway, sorry for going on!! And as Trish said you aren't doing this alone. Good luck. Take care and stay safe Lynne

Hiya. I was diagnosed Nov 2017 with decompensated cirrhosis and told I wouldn't see spring 2018 if I continued drinking. I stopped! It wasn't easy, but I was supported by a fabulous team of people. I am well (albeit on t/p list) and do my best to get stronger and fitter.

Please stop drinking, use all the resources you can, it is possible to live a good life...you can take control.

We are all here for you 😊🌈xxx

Oh crikey. All of them.. ascites, oedema, insomnia, huge personality changes, lack of clotting, bruising, spider naevii, jaundice.. shall I go on?

Fact is, I'm still here, still fighting. My family don't trust me to not drink, but I am that stubborn!! I will not let the b****rd kill me!!

I set out to do it for my family and somewhere along the line, realised it had to be for me.

I'm now fitter and healthier than I ever was and loving my life.

I wish you all good things..get better for you my love.💖
