This time last year I was getting ready to head to QEHB, following a call to say I had a donor.
My ‘liverversary’ is, therefore, tomorrow, but today my mind is with my donors family. This will have been the end of her journey, and I will forever have her in my mind. I was hoping to go to a church today and light candles for her, and I’m not a religious type. Sadly, that hasn’t been possible because of current circumstances, but my thoughts have been with her and her family.
Anyone waiting for a transplant, I know your pain, and I know this will be a crap time for you, I don’t envy you the circumstances we have now, but stay focused, stay positive. You will get there and it WILL change your life.
Andy.

Hi happy liverversery 4 2mor. I had my 1st liverversery on 16th April and it was the same 4 me thinking about the donor family losing their loved 1. Before lock down i had planned a family holiday but now obviously things have changed. So my children got me 2 rose bushes 1 4 myself and 1 4 my donor so I can watch them bloom and grow and remember how lucky I've been . Take care and keep safe.
Yes am doing ok hope u r. Can't wait 2 get back 2 some normality and c my grandchildren. Am in the process of getting a letter 2 my donor family ready it's very hard 2 know what 2 say. Take care.
I wrote mine about 6 months ago. I found the hardest bit was starting it, and once I got going I had to hold myself back!!! It was incredibly difficult to do, but I found it a wonderful release to be able to say thank you. I’ve not heard anything back and that I’m absolutely fine with. Others in my family were keen to hear back, but I just wanted to express myself.
Still got mine on the computer if you want it for ideas - but each story is so different.
Happy Liverversary Andy and for many, many more to come.
As Steak says you could get something special to plant in your garden to mark the occasion.
I have an olive tree to mark my special day. I shall light a candle in a glass lantern and place it next to the tree to mark my 2 years later this year.
Well Done Andy, and a Very Happy Liverversary. I hope you have many, many more 👍👍🤞🤞. I like Alf's idea of a special plant to celebrate the day, and to think of your donor and their family.
Am coming up to my 2nd liverversary in a few days and like you am thinking of my donor and what a wonderful gift they gave me,the best thing you can do for them is to have a wonderful healthy life that’s what I believe they would want
Andy, that you for sharing your story. I am so happy you received your gift of life. It is wonderful that you are remembering your donor and her family ❤️
