Wife now has psoriasis

My wife has stage 4 liver disease. Two weeks ago she had an ascites drain of 17.4 litres. It seems now that her kidneys are failing. To make matters worse she has now developed what I think is psoriasis with her skin shedding pretty well all over her body. She has cream from the GP which eases the itching but I fear it won’t clear up.

Good afternoon 36wordsworth,

Sorry to hear your wife is so unwell.

You can call the nurse led helpline on 0800 652 7330 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm if this would help.

I hope you are taking care of yourself too.

Best wishes,

Trust9

Hi,

You and your poor wife are going through so much, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I don't have psoriasis, but I do get flakey skin around my hairline, and only on one side, which is strange. My Son does have psoriasis, and I think he uses E45 cream, but it still itches a lot.

Sorry I can't be of more help,

Stay Safe,

David

36wordsworth, my husband had the same but it wasn't psoriasis. When his skin was stretched with the ascites and then drained it caused the skin to flake. I just used to put an emollient moisturiser on and within a number of days it would go away.

I hope you will find it will be the same.

Take care and stay safe. 😊

Hi 36wordsworth

I’m so sorry to hear that you and your wife are having a bad time I do hope it improves, I think you should contact the nurse to ask their opinion but I had flaky skin just about everywhere and my lovely wife just put the cream (not E45) everywhere it helped.

Stay Safe
