Diagnosed cirrhosis in February.

Hubby usually has a coffee each morning, followed by a 300ml fruit/veggie smoothie. In the afternoons he'll have an herbal tea and another 200-300ml of water. In the evenings he'll have another 300ml water. He's on 50 spiro and 20 furo. He's only had one bout of mild ascites, which went away immediately after starting the meds. The getting up 3 times a night is his biggest problem now. Bloodwork is all returning to a "new normal". Wouldn't know he has liver disease at all!

Just wondering if anyone was able to reduce or stop the diuretics in order to get a good nights sleep.

Good afternoon MississaugaLiver,

Apologies that you have had no reply.

We would not suggest changing any medication without discussing it with your own medical doctors.

If you tell them of your concerns they may be able to suggest a different management plan suitable for your husband.

Take care,
