I've been diagnosed with cirrhosis since 12th Feb 2019. Not been well since. The bit I can't understand is I've quit drinking. My liver consultant said I stopped at the right time. My first scan was 12.7 on fibro scan. Now down to 8 on fibro scan. With a iqr of 1. 9. That number come down as can see. So why do I still feel poorly almost daily. So tired n physical weakness. Sometimes my legs feel hollow when walking. When I'm preparing my food. I drop things as my arms n hands go weak. I'm wondering if it's the fat content in the liver. I'm lost 1 stone in weight. I'm in a super diet. What else can I do to feel normal again. I can't even work. It's getting me down n depressed. I can see no end to it.

Have you tried asking for an appointment with your liver consultant or liver nurse, they can maybe check all your bloods and explain everything to expect with cirrhosis
I am so so sorry that you feel unwell, I do know that it will take time, I think summerc23 has the right idea, do book an appointment as there may be another reason for the fatigue and possibly they may be able to help. All my best wishes.
Paderico.
I've had all my bloods checked. My eyes are so heavy and look horrible when I look in mirror. I used to look a picture of health. Now I look terrible n feel so rubbish. I don't know where to turn next. No one seems to help me. Not even sure if they can. I fear I'm going to be like this for rest of my days. Even my partner left me as said I'd changed. I'm a ill man
Sorry to hear your still not feeling good !. As yourself I was diagnosed a little earlier sept 2019. And tend to follow the same scenario, our only issue that’s different is my diagnosis was non alcoholic of unknown cause.
With the actual disease, it tends to be a very slow progression in regards to how your body reacts to the various symptoms we all seem to struggle with at times.
Try not to dwell on your feelings to much, take it one day at a time, concentrate on the positive things. Just worrying about it is only going to exacerbate your issues unfortunately.
Work towards the good things in your life at present, ever day is a bonus.
Take care all our thoughts 💭 are with you.

Hi there. It is a difficult illness and speaking for myself, symptoms seem to come from nowhere, particularly HE.
Have you tried the British Liver Trust helpline for help and advice?
It's a long, hard battle (my diagnosis 2017), but definitely one worth fighting.🤗🌈
Good morning chrisr998,
Firstly congratulations on your abstinence!
WIth regards to your symptoms, May I suggest you see your doctor or liver specialist for clinical assessment.
It is important not to just assume your symptoms are linked to a pre exisiting condition.
The doctors may also be able to offer therapies to help.
You can also call the nurse led helpline on 0800 652 7330 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm to chat things through .
Take care ,

Hi Chris,
I was where you are now 4 years ago, and I had most of the symptoms of cirrhosis, although my fibroscan score was a lot worse than yours.
For me, it took about a year of no alcohol and a healthy diet, for my body to show any noticeable improvement. I do, still suffer from fatigue, aching joints and capsule pain, and some of the other symptoms of cirrhosis, but generally, do feel OK, and can do most of the things I want to,
My bloods are near normal now, but I now realise that I will never be completely free of symptoms, but I am 72 years old, so, age plays it's part in that.
Just try and be patient and give your body a chance to recover,
Stay Safe,
David
Well done for quitting drinking👍 Although your blood results are good, is it possible that some of the other health issues you are having could be related to something else? It might be worth asking to have them checked out! I had ultrasounds, CT scans and an endoscopy and support from dieticians to enable the team to get the whole picture and to get the right treatment! Stay well👍
I think people might be confused by your post, with your recent fiboscan, you do not have cirrhosis but a very fatty liver. People with just a fatty liver can sometimes have the same symptoms as a person with cirrhosis, such as itching, sweating, tiredness. Just stay sober and you will turn things around, Maybe talk to your doctor about some vitamins.
