Peace of mind.....

I had a phone call from my consultant at Leeds on Good Friday with not so good news, my last blood results were not as they should be and I need to go through to hospital 18 miles away for more blood tests but didn't say what tests. He said it could be a virus, rejection or just a case of adjusting my medication and don't worry over the weekend !! I was supposed to have a telephone consultation with my other consultant this morning but it has been cancelled. I explained to the receptionist and that he should have received an email from Leeds about my blood results. I was hoping for some peace of mind today because when someone says "don't worry" you always do.

Good morning,

Are you able to get hold of your transplant coordinator in Leeds - perhaps they could access documentation/results and facilitate the process of you getting your bloods tested again either by the hospital or your GP.

regards

Thank you Trust5,

I have left a message with the transplant coordinator team and hopefully I will hear from them soon.

Believe me if it was an emergency and they were truly worried you would of been admitted x

Leeds tend to be over dramatic, but I have been dragged in twice and a taxi was on my door stop within an hour so if they were really worried you would of been in x

It will probably be just a case of adjusting your meds once they get the next blood results and your bloods may settle themselves

Hi there joeb

How long ago did you have your TP - just as a matter of interest - I know it was more than 6 months ago but can’t see the date.

Certainly my meds were being adjusted for many months after my TP but it all got sorted eventually. Fingers crossed that it will only be some minor tests and just some tweaks needed. As jojo says pretty sure you would be called in straight away if it was anything too bad.

Good luck and please do keep us informed.

Miles

Nearly 11 months now, they did mention reducing my mycophenolate because my neutrophils were very much borderline but it's GGT I think that's rising. I was sent for an US early March the result were nothing sinister going on.

I don't think the consultant from Leeds is comfortable with telephone consultations. I hope it's just adjusting my meds and I don't have to go for a biopsy.

Thanks Miles, stay safe,

Lesley
