I have made up my own sanitiser after reading the advice from WHO.
Use Isopropyl alcohol or 150% proof Grain Alcohol. Then fill 70% of a pump bottle with the alcohol, then few drops of glycerine for moisturiser or aloe vera and maybe tea tree for fragrance then top up with water. I couldn't get glycerine as all sold out but that is just for softening your hands. I put normal moisturiser in. Smells very alcoholic but I'm assured it works. Washing with soap and water is better but not possible if you are out on the street.

150 proof-blimey-rocket fuel...surprised your hands don't dissolve at that level ...good suggestion though-I have some 90 proof that I was going to make some limoncello out of.....Think I'll re-purpose
90 proof is not going to cut it - this is only 45% alcohol. The minimum recommended to kill Covid-19 is 60% b/v. You can make it without moisturiser however the solution will degrease your hands stripping them of natural protection - so some moisturiser afterwards will sort that.
Hi Ash, thank you. I've seen similar "recipes" using aloe vera gel with the alcohol and many distilleries are now pitching in to make sanitizer from their booze in various countries.
Of note, I was advised by a few employees in a large drug store here that all hand sanitizer in the foreseeable future will be heading straight to the hospitals which is understandable. We live in Canada. Perhaps at some of the dollar type stores there are still trial sized ones.
Regarding Face Masks, they are definitely predicting shortages in the US and I assume here too. Maybe everywhere?
Creative, crafty and caring people are making their own face masks to donate to medical facilities if they will accept them and there is a lot of brainstorming on line for best fabrics and patterns that are being shared.
Like most, we are mainly staying home, as advised and not yet ordered, to avoid picking up the virus but there was a need to pick up another few inhaler prescriptions and aspirin. My anti anxiety prescription wasn't yet in, unfortunately. There was still no toilet paper there, I noticed.
I did have to ask a consumer to please step back approximately 6 feet from me. Politely of course. Some are still not getting this social distance guideline/instruction.

Especially as it has been said that soap is more effective - as long as you sing nursery rhymes twice - well of course I mean Happy Birthday twice - and no shortcuts allowed! 😀👍.
What's the point, with hand to hand fighting at the supermarket. Our Chemist entry is on a one by one, but the que outside in the fresh air for an hour & a half sick people are standing in the cold dancing cheek to cheek. 🤔
Our chemist has measured 6 foot apart and written no's on the pavement. The queue is down the road but it's the only shop I've seen doing social distancing properly. Well done them
