Fab! That’s great news.

Do you mind me asking, do you have cirrhosis?

Yes I do have cirrhosis. Diagnosed approximately 3 1/2 years ago.

Thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in January. Still not sure I know where I stand. Not seeing consultant until end of April. So still have lots of unanswered questions.

Good stuff - you’re certainly not jammy because you have worked to achieve that - good job 👍.

Well done C1, you saw your results, didn’t wait for a Dr to ‘fix’ you and did something about it! Hard work and determination pet! Well done x

Hi C1JAM,

How did you manage to get a 2nd fibroscan?, my Hep Doc, just wants to talk about the weather, when the fibroscan machine is sitting there in his office gathering dust.

I was diagnosed at the sametime as you with a median of 29.5, and I would love to know if it has improved, but my Doc says it can't improve..... I'm getting nowhere with him.

Ditto again. 😭

I didn't ask or expect it, my consultant just did it as part of my 6monthly check up. I was so surprised at the reduction and she said that it can and is possible to reduce to a degree after abstinence.

🤷‍♂️

That’s fantastic - well done!

Excuse my ignorance but surely with a FibroScan Reading now of 11, you are no longer in the cirrhotic category? I understand this to be F2/F3 which, when alcohol-related, suggests moderate to severe scarring, rather than advanced scarring/cirrhosis?

Anyway, a great result for yourself which demonstrates that abstinence and determination really can help, and encouraging for the whole community.

yeah, It does look to be out of the cirrhotic area, but im not taking it as 100% accurate for now. ill wait and see what the next one is

What are your blood test results like?

Millie09 profile image
Millie09 in reply toC1JAM

My bloods are all normal? That's what I dont understand, ultrasound is as it should be with cirrhosis

C1JAM profile image
C1JAM in reply toMillie09

Same as me then, normal bloods.

It's a strange disease

It really is baffling lol , but good to know that things are ok liver wise for now 😊

Well done! A great achievement.
