Do you have NASH – can you help the National Institute of Clinical Excellence? £75 Honorarium payment provided

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) are looking for one or two patient experts to participate in a Scientific Advice meeting about Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) in London on Thursday 12th March, 2020 (mostly likely 12-4pm but still being confirmed). Travel expenses, accommodation (if needed) and honorarium (£75) will be provided.

NICE Scientific Advice is the process whereby pharmaceutical companies ask NICE for advice early on in a drug’s development about trial design. We advise on a developer’s plans for generating evidence for their product to help them meet the requirements for later evaluation for cost-effectiveness at NICE, when the company brings the product to market. A patient expert is an individual who has or has had the condition being discussed. Alternatively, they may be somebody who knows the condition well because they are a carer or family member of somebody with the condition. We will be looking for their experience of the condition, current treatment of the condition and their opinion of the potential new treatment.

Patient experts must meet the following criteria:

• Be diagnosed with NASH

• If the person knows the stage of their fibrosis in their liver, then liver fibrosis stage 2, 3 or 4 would be most relevant but not essential.

If you are interested, want to know more or have any questions please contact Sarah Scott at sarah.scott@nice.org.uk or (0161) 870 3213.
