What kind of tests do I need?

Have very itchy skin, mainly on the forearms since about May. Only ice packs seem to give short term relief. Fexofenadine helps a little but does not eliminate itching.

About 50% of the time my poo floats but of normal colour.

Feel a little under the weather.

Had some digestive issues last year (nausea, burping, weight loss) and had an endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound then, all that was found on the US were 5mm polyps, a few weeks later significant pain in my right kidney area, led to abdominal CT, nothing found, consultant thought maybe a stone was the cause. I dont however recall 'passing' a stone.

Are there liver diseases that the CT could not have picked up that could cause the itchy symptoms?

What blood tests should I ask my GP for to try and rule out liver or biliary disease?

Many thanks for your replies.

Good afternoon ASP1968,

There is no one test in liver disease that provides a complete picture. The liver tests along with clinical assessment and history taking are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that all help create the bigger picture.

I have attached information on liver disease tests which may help to guide your consultation.
