Presumably the doctor who prescribed it is aware of your cirrhosis? I would check with him/her that it is safe for you to take.

Hi Jimmy. I am on Ranitidine but I'm post transplant. I was told that Ranitidine protects my stomach because I'm taking quite a lot of medication. I'm sorry I don't know what effect it could have on a cirrhotic liver. It would be best to check this point with your GP or specialist. Regards. Alf

My husband is on Ranitidine, prescribed by another consultant. His liver consultant is aware of this and has never suggested he should stop/change.
