Hi everyone it's Costel here, I wrote recently about how I was drinking energy drinks to excess, thank you for all of your advice, I have now stopped drinking them.
It's 17 months since I became very ill with Cirrhosis and had my last alcohol.
I am feeling really well, I've. Just had lots of dental work done and I have a Hollywood smile now. I'm starting to eat more and have just got a gym membership.
At the moment I'm on holiday in Florida with my mum and dad and having a brilliant time.
Just thought I'd let you know things really can get better.
Best wishes to all of you, keep your chin up.

Thanks for the update and I am really pleased for you. Looks like giving up drinking and following the right diet advice along with exercise is bringing you back to good health.
Hi I’m really pleased for you.it makes me smile when I read posts like yours.if the energy drinks initially helped you stop drinking then that’s a good thing.but the problem with lots of people they swap one crutch for another.so keep on doing what your doing it’s great to hear.happy holiday also and best wishes.paul
👍 Great stuff! If you can afford it, get some gym plans done by a personal trainer and have a session with them every 2 to 3 weeks. You’ll progress way more that way. Well done.
Bravo man! Just one thing of caution to consider. If you have any portal hypertension be careful lifting to heavy at the gym. Just want to throw it out there to keep ya safe. But yea other wise great news !
Why? What is safe? I've been thinking about how weights really change your shape in a short amount of time, but obviously don't want to do any damage.
I'm not able to walk for miles, and honestly find it a little boring.
I remember in college, lifting weights just 2-3 days a week and quickly having shapelier arms and a more defined abdomen. I'm short waisted and most of my excess weight is on my middle. My poor arms are like wings. ☹️
But I must still be more muscular than average, people are always surprised at just how heavy I really am, it's slightly embarrassing and super frustrating at the same time.
So if I don't have varices, is it safe? I should add, I have portal hypertensive gastropathy and was hospitalized for hematuria once, shortly after I started treatment for Hep C with ribavirin. While dose was reduced, they never said what caused it. I had been lifting heavy furniture before that and have always suspected that was at least partly responsible.
My previous lovely female gym instructor called Pat looked about 8 stone but weighed 10 and was about 5.2 in height! I was so jealous at how fit she was! Back then I lived for the gym! Lol
Do you have any thing that you can focus on like a nice dress you'd like to get back into or a holiday? I have two dresses hanging on my kitchen door along with a few old photo's of me when slimmer ! These have kept me focused on getting fitter!
Also play some music and have dance around your kitchen or wherever if you have room in your small box as it makes you feel happy so that you can keep focused on your target!
Good luck ! Give it a go and let me know how you feel in a few weeks time ! I know you can do it if I can!
I've managed to get into one of the two dresses for a ball a week on Saturday, hubby said I look lovely when re trying on the dress 😁Unfortunately I'm aiming to get into the other in a month or two as its 10 in size !
Well, first one I found I was pregnant 😳 then I found a great photo of all of us in front of the mantle, I was holding the baby. He just graduated from high school! Who prints their photos anymore?! Great memories 😍
