Minimal perivenular fibrosis, alcohol related.

Had elevated enzymes a few months back (alt 97, ast 47) now enzymes are in line (alt 35, ast 24)Had a few fibroscan with mixed results(4.3-10.3) fibroscan shows a cap score of 278 on initial scan.Pushed my doctor to order a biopsy. After 3 months of abstinence,solid diet, and exercice, the only finding was minimal perivenular fibrosis. My GI told me that as long as I don’t drink and stay on my current path, that I will be fine, but I wanted to know if anyone here has any prior experience with ALD and perivenular fibrosis. Is this lesion reversible?

Well done on swapping to a healthy lifestyle! Amazing what it can do in terms of reversing liver damage isn’t it? In terms of what you have, apologies I don’t know what that is and have no experience of it. I would be inclined not to use Google or you will scare yourself stupid! My experience is that my liver is regenerating as a result of a switch to a healthy lifestyle. What does your consultant say?

Sorry I do not have an answer to your question, but we seem to be in a very similar situation. My enzymes have been elevated same as yours (108 alt 54 ast) for 7 months no drinking. Getting a biopsy next week. How long were yours elevated? Any more info you can provide on your situation is appreciated! Any other tests you had etc.

I also had an ultrasound with normal results. Don’t know how long they were elevated. Had my first blood test feb 14th that showed the elevated enzymes of alt97, ast 47. Next blood test in March showed alt 47, ast 27, third blood test in April showed alt 35, ast 24. After that and the ultrasound GP wasn’t willing to run more tests, so I paid for biopsy.

Also very similar. I have had ultrasound and mri, both normal. What was your drinking pattern? Mine was weekend binger.
