Has anyone with fatty liver experienced joint pain? I have upper right quadrant pain, and joint pain, mainly knees and feet, also elbows. I was diagnosed with fatty liver after ultra sound. I was wondering if there could be a link.
Thanks.

I was never formally diagnosed with fatty liver but have had the RUQ quadrant pain you describe and during the phase prior to abstinence I had exactly the same joint aches.
Another symptom I had forgotten about but has now disappeared.
All the best
I was diagnosed with fatty liver and also have a good amount of joint pain. When i walk around in the morning every joint pops at least once and im only 29. My shoulders seem to be the worst.
I don’t have fatty liver but cirrhosis. I think from reading loads and loads, when a liver isn’t working to it’s full potential (whatever caused it) a lot of symptoms or feelings etc. can be similar. I had terrible joint pain, now that could be that I had lost a lot of muscle mass, it could have been hormone, mineral, vitamin changes ie. the liver not processing them as good as it should, I really don’t know but I was told to take the Omega 3 fish oil by my consultant, make sure it has a good level of EPA/DHA, my joints are great now but that could be that I have gained muscle back, I am eating better etc...I stress though as yours is fatty liver speak to your doctor first it may not be suitable for you and it could be something totally different that is causing the pain. All the best
Even my finger joints hurt for a while, but it comes and goes. Yes, I had knee, elbow, toes, ankles, most joints hurt in the morning and worked out a little during the day. My specialist said it was not a direct symptom, but I'm not sure I agreed then or now. It did eventually settle down a lot.
Hi
I have Nash plus joint pain. My consultant said shoulder pain is deferred pain from my liver, he also you can get joint pain too. Hope you feel a little better soon. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
