Hi all, I've been referred to Royal Free Hospital as my hospital are clearly hitting a brick wall. Has anyone had any experience with royal free. Is it easy to get to via the train??
It's going to be a long journey so I'm trying to prepare myself TIA x

I had my transplant at the Royal Free in March 2016.
I would be very happy to share with you my experience of the process from first appointment all the way to the follow up post transplant.
However, I will only be specific about a hospital in private messages as I don't really think its appropriate to talk about a hospital unit where I had treatment, in a public access forum.
I would certainly recommend the Royal Free . It's a very good Hospital. Belsize Park is nearest underground on Northern Line. Then a short walk or a few bus stops away. Also if you are up to it I would take the opportunity to explore stunning Hampstead.
I've been treated at The Royal Free since I was diagnosed. I write a blog about my experiences from then until today. My transplant failed due to a massive haemorrhage, and have somehow gone from 12 hours to live to still being well and active 8 months later. My blog can be found at 1liver1life.com. Wish you all the best.
I have been under the hepatology and haematology teams at the Royal Free Hospital for 12 years now. The care and support I have been given has been outstanding . Belsize Park is the nearest tube station and is very easy to get to . Best of luck to you .
You can get the London overground to the Royal Free at Hampstead. You need Hampstead Heath station. When you come out of the station turn left, past the Garden Gate & go down the hill & it's the big building in front of you it's about a 5 min walk M&S is on the corner
Thank you all for your help and support I v learnt more from these forums than I have my doctors. I'm waiting for more stents in my heart as I have heart disease but I'm stage 4 liver cirrhosis and diabetes but Iv been sober over a year does anyone know if I could get referred to the royal free hospital and be entitled to a transplant if I ask my gp?
