I was getting a little concerned, as I've been sending messages, but getting no response. Jaycee has finally got back to me.
"I am doing grand all drain tubes out by tomorrow everything out. The pain is quite bad but getting better. I am so happy. But find I can’t concentrate on anything at all. Head’s all over the place. I have Walked 4 times round the ward."
This lady never ceases to amaze me. She's 68-years old and four days ago had major surgery. I think I'm going to have to start calling her "Lazarus". I did explain that straight after the operation she's going to feel as if she'd just had an argument with a Bournemouth Council dust cart, and that she will feel a little groggy after all the drugs and steroids she's having to take.
I have told her not to go over doing things and that she needs to be taking baby-steps. Before her transplant, Jaycee used to tell me every day, just how many steps she'd taken on her daily walk. Most of the time it was around the 11,000 mark. She was so determined to be fit enough to be able to endure the operation.
You really can't help but admire this remarkable woman.
Fantastic news Richard, like you, I've been waiting to hear she is ok. I'm so very happy for her, she has earned this gift, I know she has worked very hard to keep herself going. In a few days she will get round to reading these posts and good wishes. Not so sure she will manage baby steps!!! As she drives so hard to keep herself going. Thank you so much for sharing her news with us all.
Agnes
From the sounds of that post I don't think Jaycee does baby steps, good luck Jaycee I hope you have a smooth recovery
Delighted to hear how well Jaycee is doing. Remarkable lady indeed. Best wishes, Pam xx
Thank you for letting us all know how this remarkable lady is doing. She is an inspiration to us all. Please pass on my love and hugs to her. Take care, Richard. Lynne
Many thanks Richard for the update. I'm so glad she's doing so well. 68 years old is no age, I'm 73, so there's hope for me yet😊, if you are reading our well wishes Jaycee, just keep your trips to a walk....No Running!!!!!!😂
Many thanks Richard for the update - we all appreciate it. She is one lovely lady - wishing her a smooth recovery. Will look forward to her posts.
Best to you both
Gwen
You keep us informed as often as you can my friend. What was with this comment from JalunM? " give it a rest your going on a bit". What an asshole comment to make.
I have just posted up a new thread, it's been a rather busy week for poor Jaycee, and I was holding back until I had some more positive news. But, your question has prompted me to post something up. Many thanks for your question as I feel there must be others like you who are curious too.
