Hi everyone I received my results which so far have all been normal apart from slightly raised cholesterol which has come down quite a bit. My consultant favoured the blood tests instead of biopsy but as predicted have not been helpful. He has asked me to increase exercise and try to lose half a stone although I am not exactly overweight. I think we will have to wait for next flare up to give more clues as to the cause. Its frustrating but at least I now know the liver is the main issue. Sending good wishes to everyone on this forum suffering from poor health through liver disease.

What blood tests did they do If you dont mind me asking? Liver function tests or LFTs can be misleading as they can sometimes be completely normal even in cirrhotic patients. They show the livers function in that moment. But dont reflect the true state of the liver in regard to damage. I would suggest an ELF test for testing the livers true state if going the blood sample route.
Hi Phoenix Thank you for responding to me. They did a lipid profile, liver function tests, immunoglobulin, INR and transferrin saturation. Also checked for diabetes. They didn't do an elf test he said it wouldn't be useful. I did ask for one. He said he wanted to be sure it wasn't progressive and may need another scan in 2 years. Do you think that's a long time to leave things alone with continuing symptoms? He has asked me to lose a few pounds and increase physical activity. I am 5 foot tall and weigh 64kg.
I think 2 years is to long yes. Standard monitoring should be every 6 months.
Thanks Phoenix thats what I thought. I am off to India tomorrow for a 10 day holiday. I will see if there has been any update from my doctor when I get back. I'm not sure if all my blood test results are back yet.
