Hi, I`m Tony......just turned 64, live in beautiful South London , and just heard today from Kings that I have been accepted for a liver transplant.
Now, I have worked in Operating Departments for 35 years, even at the Royal Free transplant team....but that, somehow, doesn`t help. Happy that my problems will (hopefully) soon be over...but also slightly nervous.
Well...I won`t bore you any more.....I`ll see you on the forums

Jesus Tony, I bet it doesn't help seeing it first hand, at least you know how amazing they are on the other hand though? Are you a mighty boosh fan or is tony Harrison your real name? Apologies if it is! 😁
I thought one or the other would be right but not both! 😂😂😂 that's made my day. Seriously though, I can only imagine how scary it must be but you're in the right place here, somebody usually always has an answer or if not that a kind word. All the best Mr harrison! Stacie. Xxx
Tony,
Welcome here, everyone can share experiences and I think your inside input will be invaluable. And you have no problem finding the appropriate departments. I was transplanted at the Royal Free.
Good luck with the wait, hope that it is not too long.
Hi there, hope you are not on the list too long. Had my transplant at St James, the good thing is you are away with the faries so no need to worry. Good luck with everything 😊
Welcome, there a loads of good people to help here.
Welcome Tony. I had my transplant at Kings 15 months ago.
They have a fantastic team at there. The support has been excellent pre and post op.
Hello Tony, welcome to the site. As you will soon know there are so many really kind people here, who will laugh with you and cry when needed. I am also on the list 199 days and counting. I am at the Royal Free. This site is a place where you can be yourself and talk to others who will understand. Sending lots of virtual welcome hugs. Jaycee
Well done mate! Listen,Kings are amazing. I had around 6 weeks to live and here I am 7 months later doing g everything I want, life’s pucker fella. Grab it and go with it! Good luck 😉
Hi Tony and welcome. Hope that you are as well as can be under the circumstances and I hope that your call for transplant comes soon. All the best. Alf
My husband has also just been accepted for transplant by Kings. His UKELD score is 52, so he was told he is likely to have a long wait. It certainly is scary, my husband was totally up for transplant but after the 3 day assessment is way more uncertain. We are from the west country so it was an intense few days and the consultant didn't really have anything upbeat to say about it all. I totally understand you apprehension. I only logged onto this site today in hope to find some things out from the people who have gone through it all themselves.
Hi and welcome - I’m also at Kings awaiting TP. Maybe we’ll bump into each other some time. I’ve only been on the list around 8-10 weeks but have been called up 4 times so far. For various reasons no successful TP yet but I’m sure my time will come as will yours.
