Weight loss.

If I were experiencing weight loss as a result of liver damage, would I be showing other symptoms too? I have put on some weight over Xmas but was weighed at weight watchers yesterday and have lost 4.5 lb in a week with little change to diet etc.

I'm due for a fibroscan tomorrow and my last score 2 years ago was 9.1. I have to admit I am worried.

My weight fluctuates up and down within 10 lbs like a yo yo. One month I'm 180 next I'm 170 and as the worry sets in I'm 180 again. Weight can fluctuate for alot of reasons. Talk to your doctor but a weight change of 4.5 lbs isnt much. If it continues to drop every week like that then that would be cause for concern.

I had a fibroscan six months ago with a score of 9.9 and I then began eating healthier and lost about a stone in weight. Recently I am finding that my weight is going up and down but I put that down to now feeling sick, not having an appetite and then when I do eat a small amount feeling very full.

Hopefully your fibroscan will have reduced on the next reading.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I had my fibroscan today and the score is 6.3, down from 9.1 two years ago. I must confess I can't understand it as although I lost weight, I put it on again.

I guess my consultant will explain it when I see her early February.

That’s good that it has come down. Not long to wait to see your consultant either. 👍
