Upper L & RHS rib cage pain

Hi All, I have the same problem as Ksvlm. I am regularly in pain around my left & right rib cage especially after eating, and I never get an uninterrupted night's sleep. It has been worse over the Xmas period, so I called the consultants secretary, and two days later the consultant phoned me back. After telling him of the pain issue, he told me it could not be liver related, and sent me for a US and a chest Xray. The US showed my spleen since my US last September, had grown by 4cm's to 19cm's, but his follow up letter said it it was "not of concern", and he thought it could be Angina, and referred me back to my GP for further investigations into the cause of the pain!!!!!! I have had a heart monitor implant for 4 years and it has never shown any arythma. I am losing confidence in my consultant as he doesn't seem to know about the pains we get with our cirrhosis. Any thoughts on this, and liver safe pain relief?
