That is fantastic, and a huge relief for everyone I’m sure. No two transplants are identical but I hope in a month or two he’ll feel like a new man.

he looked a lot better than I thought he would despite being on ventilator with all the machines in ICU

Great news, a new year and a new lease. xx

hope so, thank you so much. I forget sometimes how far he has come, from the varises bursting, getting tips, all the HE episodes and ascites but throughout it all he has been positive whilst as the time has went on I have started to doubt it ever happening

Managed to get a few hours sleep last night, today his breathing tube was removed, they said that the liver is working as it should and he has been transferred to high dependancy. He has a high temperature so getting antibiotics for that and started on anti rejection meds and steroids. Tomorrow they said he will be getting up to sit in a chair.

Sounds good they are determined to get them up & about quickly depending on any drains & stuff they might have. Hubby was up in a chair 2 days after transplant & he was brought a portable bicycle to pedal while he was sitting to build up his leg strength.
