Shoulder pain and decompensated liver any advice for pain relief.

My husband now has severe pain in his right shoulder neck and arm. Is this related to his liver. He is currently waiting for an mri on his left and feet as he is constant pain with his leg and his feet are numb they suspect neuropathy and PAD. The shoulder and neck pain are relatively new although he has had them before after bouts of heavy drinking, but some days he is in agony. I’m reluctant to give him over the counter pain relief as he is already on so many meds and has a varices in his stomach. They are monitoring this.He won’t let me ring the doctor. Has anyone any advice.

Avoid Nurofene, try Solpadine Max soluble would be my suggestion. I got the OK but I am post transplant.

Considering he is so ill and on so much medication, I wouldn't like to recommend anything. Although he doesnt want you to phone the Dr, it is the best and safest way to be sure he gets the right medication for the pain. So would he rather suffer the pain or let you call the doctor ?

I would be worried the pain had to do with his heart - but I worry.

I hate it when they say don't bother the doctor - luckily I can just go ahead and ring the office with the question and my husband just rolls his eyes [maybe he complains, too - well yes, he does, but not for a long time LOL]

I probably wouldn't let him take something over the counter without checking with his doctor's office first.
