Symptoms of CMV virus

Hi

Was wondering if a sore throat is symptomatic of CMV virus?

I've had one for several weeks now and GP prescribed a weeks course of amoxycillin, which I have completed, but I still have a sore throat.

I'm six months post transplant.

I never had a sore throat with cmv I felt like I had the flu but a hundred times worse ... A lot of bugs we pick up post transplant are stubborn because of our immune system so some last longer than others and even healthy people complain of having a sore throat for months.. you should call your transplant hospital if your concerned x feel better soon

Thanks for your input jojo. With the antibiotics not touching it, I think it must be viral infection which is proving hard to shake off. I have also been experiencing an aching neck and shoulders, but this has been put down to the statin that I started to take in September. In fact I'm seriously considering stopping the statin,but thats another debate.

I'm just really concerned that it might be something more sinister, fortunately I have a follow up CT scan next Saturday for thorax and abdomen which hopefully will allay my fears.
