Great news for you both, fingers crossed for a short wait and continued improvements in weight as you wait.

All the very best to you both.

Good luck Agnes

Many will say to try and forget about waiting for that call but you won’t you’ll be making sure you’ve always got your phone then has it got charge/signal it will be difficult but just try and lead some sort of normal life whatever your circumstances and when you least expect it off it goes.

Well done for passing your assessment it’s an odd one as your poorly enough to need listing yet well enough to be listed.

Hope your wait won’t be to long and wish you all the very best

Thank you Huw, been the second toughest week in my 62 years. I doubt things will feel normal for a while, but at least now we can look to the future!

Fantastic news!!!!!!. Kept looking at my laptop (using this now as it's easier because hands shake a bit from immunosuppressant drugs) . Get those bags packed! (not that your hubby will want anything out of them for first 3 days!). Hope you don't wait long. I'm made up for you both! Get a good nights sleep now! Alf

I think we both might sleep for a week! Haha. Now we can look foreword!

Thank you for your encouraging words!

The reason I posted daily this week is to let others what might lay ahead, I’m so happy it didn’t all go horribly wrong.

Good news indeed, hopefully the wait will be short. Compliance is the name of the game now along with the phone obsession. Is he staying in or are you able to both go home? So pleased that the outcome was positive.

We are both home, wheelbarrow for prescriptions though, our own bed tonight.

Yip that’s true and every time the phone rings your heart skips a beat, when I was first listed I think I stared at the phone constantly and checked to make sure it was working, was just starting to get used to being on the list when I got the call 🥰 10 weeks I was on it, that was three years ago and it still feels surreal, anyway delighted for you both 💕

Fantastic it’s so nice to know that for some there is a light at the end of the tunnel and thank you for letting us all know what it’s like in your most stressful time

I wanted to share last week to give others an idea of what the assessment week is like, it was also good for me to share and let off some stress. The encouragement on this site is so reassuring! I stayed in a guest room in hospital last week, so was going back to an empty room. Was great to share it with people who care so much.

That’s fantastic news! My husband only had to wait 8 days, so I hope it will be quick for you too. However organised and prepared you think you are for “that call”, it all goes out of the window! Hopefully a wonderful Christmas gift for you both! Good luck with it all.

Great news good luck to you both as others have said you will keep waiting for your phone to ring, my hubby got the first call at 3 am in the morning when we didn't expect it 12 weeks on and he is doing great. Hope the waits not to long XXX

Thank you David, was a strange night, hubby didn't sleep well incase the phone rang, and I jumped out of bed this morning at 6-15 to put the bucket out! I thought I had forgot, but it doesn't go out till Monday! Just can't get the staff!

My husband was listed on 15/11/18, had his transplant on 22nd! He’s doing really well, hope you don’t have to wait too long either! Good luck!

OMG, a week! I'm so glad he's doing well. It's all a bit much to seem real at the minute, hope I can get organised tomorrow, been a bit all over the place today. Thank lots of care.

Agnes

Fabulous news, I am waiting also, so stay strong and positive and keep watching and reading all the advice on this site there is always someone sadly so more worse off than ourselves. Even better news there is always someone who has come out of the tunnel we are just approaching. Loads of positivity, and huge virtual hugs heading your way.

Thank you Jaycee, how long have you been listed?

I don't feel like I'm waiting on the phone ringing, but I know when it does ring, my heart will palpitate! It's major logistics at bedtime now, all the tube feed stuff, phones, glasses, etc etc. How are you feeling? I hope your wait is short, but it will be worth it for life normality again.

Hi Agnes, not so long since, I actually signed the papers, it was the first week of August, and it is I think normal to be thinking phone, phone, phone constantly. I keep my packed pack in the room with me and my mobile switched on all night. I also check the house phone to make sure it is working.

I have been told I could wait 12/18 months... with a O Positive blood group. This site keeps me strong, helps my positivity. I have liver cancer in two places and it is a constant battle between fear of them growing too much to stay on the list and getting to the point of transplant.

I find it such a blessing that you get the views of people who have been preparing for entering this tunnel, actulally being in the tunnel and then the comming out of the the same tunnel. I am quite a strong person in body, not so in mind my husband would say LOL... Although I am not good at letting people see the person inside who is quaking with fear... So I pretend to be strong, saying words like "I am fine or I am doing grand" Both of which are not always true. My head can be like a washing machine, especially at night.

I try to stay fit, eat healthy, and be ready...

I, like you, will have found great buddies who you can share with on this site.

The good, the bad and the downright uglyness of your feelings. They cheer you on, and offer great advice and encouragement.

Getting a new liver, is a gift, one we must honour and live up to. It is a new life for us who are waiting, whilst a sadness for someone else.

So, for us at the start of our journey, we must stay strong, well be as strong as you can at that time. LOL.

Have a great day Agnes.

When do you sign the consent forms as that is when you are live on the list? 4 days later my hubby got the call didn't have to do any more tests except for blood tests & a chest X-ray due to fluid on the lung, he was in theatre within an hour of arrival. We have just past the 6 month post transplant milestone on the 12th Nov

Signed them on Friday, I hope your hubby is doing well. This site is so positive.
