Day 2 assesment

Been a busy day for hubby ... on the bike breath test done! CT scan done. ECG done. Pharmacist been in.

Then the dietitian came in and gave him the bottles of protein drinks, and later in the afternoon the doctor came in and put the feed tube in.. that wasn’t pleasant at all. So now he’s hooked up for 20 hrs with a bag of goodness.

The nursing is first class in here, credit where credit is due.

So hubby told me tonight he will be like popeye I’m the morning!

A man can dream x

My goodnees - 5 days!! Outpatients at QEHB are maximum of 3 days total. You both will be exhausted - probably are already!?

Well, continuing good luck to you both.

Not outpatient , he’s admitted and I booked a room here for 4 nights , so I don’t have to travel. £20 a night, nurses prices in the canteen as I was issued with a badge for the room. Also getting in to sit with him all day, so at least I’m not at a loose end till visiting time.

Ah I see. I never understood though why the inpatient assessment lasts 5 days but the outpatient one only 3 days. Very odd, but obviously thrre’s a reason!

That sounds brilliant, it's great that they're taking the patients partner into consideration. If he is going to be like Popeye will that make you Oliveoyl? Hope everything goes well for him and he gets the right decision. Take care. Deb

Hi Agnes. Sounds like all is going well. Popeye brings back memories. He didn't have a very varied diet, I only ever saw him eat spinach and even that was canned. He smoked a pipe too as I recall but seemed to do alright on it! lol. He certainly saved Olive in every episode! Very best of luck for the next stage of assessment. Alfred

My husband had a 5 day one back in April

It's the best body M.O.T they will get, he hope you get the decision you want at the end of it, that's the longest bit as it seems hours waiting for a result
