Over the year I have had stints where I have gave up for six weeks.. Five weeks on three occasions. But I always go back to excess.. Once a week binging till I blackout. I kept telling my doctor I was not drinking. Truth was I was still binging once a week to oblivion.
I had a drink Friday didn't drink tequila the demon drink of my choice.. I had four wines small and went home early.
My liver hasn't been tested but it will be soon.. I finally phoned and join a group in the next few weeks.
I hope to go to rehab.. To sort my demons out my past my problem and put my life back.

Well done you've seen the light. I wish you every success in you quest to rid your life of alcohol. You will feel so much better and see life in a whole new, unclouded light. You have to be honest with your GP about the amount you have been drinking though in order to be taken seriously and treated accordingly.
And carey aapartfrom the obvious benefits laura mentioned think of the money you’ll save. Maybe enough to go on holiday(s) and then actually remember them 😁.
Hi Carey. I'm wishing you all the very best in your quest to stop drinking alcohol and in putting your life back together.Alongside the medical help you will be getting, If you ever feel like you are weakening you should come on here and announce that fact and I'm sure you will find a lot of members will talk you out of it and support you in your quest to give up alcohol and get your life back to some kind of normality.Take care. Alfred.
