When I had my US the sonographer talked me through the findings as she went - all of which were normal.

I had an appointment with the Dr booked for the following week to discuss the next steps.

I would think you would probably know if they found anything

It usually takes 5-7 days for gp to recieve the report of findings, and that's before he actually looks at them, at least that's what I was told at my last one. If it shows anything they'll be in touch to make an appointment to discuss, if it didn't they prob wont in my experience! You can ring your surgery and ask receptionist if you need a follow up appointment though if you're worried. I'd give it 7- 10 days and it should be back. Does your gp surgery have an online service? If so you could register for that and message the surgery/Dr direct, I do that if I'm overdue results and worried. Mine uses a system called systmonline, I can view my blood results done at the gps and my medical records, its useful. I'm in the uk though, not sure where you are. Good luck with your results. X

Appreciate your response Stacie33 I'm probably just anxious to know didn't consider it could take some investigation on radiologist and Dr's end but most people I know got info at ultrasound

Yeah, sonographer writes report and findings, sends it to Dr and he just reads it and goes from there. I hate waiting on results too. X

When I had my scan she told me that the gp would receive the report in 5 to 7 days. I made an appointment with my gp for 8 days later and he had the report. Try not to worry. Deb

Hi there. I had to wait nearly three weeks for my ultrasound results. Since found out that my consultant had been on holiday, then she had to review them, dictate a letter, get it typed and then sent out. The longer I had to wait the more I thought that it must be OK as they'd have called me. Results came back and all is OK.

Don't worry although I know it's hard not to!!

I have made sure they copy me in to any result or treatment letters. Hubby keeps them in a huge file so that he can monitor things himself 🙄

Takes up to two weeks for letter.
