Hi guys. I know I haven't been around my h for a while but i do keep an eye on you all lol.
Thought I'd give you a giggle with my bizarre problem.
My daughter's blood group is AB negative.
Mine has always tested O positive.
Nobody questioned it until I had to give details for her. I was informed I can't be her mom. I've heard about being unsure of the dad but i was there and I'm pretty sure I'm her mom.
After countless tests and contact with the national transfusion service I found out my blood group is HH negative lol. Never heard of it.
Apparently they call it Bombay Blood Group as that's where it was discovered and where most cases are. I'm shpechal (muddy voice there)
Under normal circumstances I would receive type O negative blood in any surgery as they don't cross match tight down to the reverse antigens - whatever they are. Explains why I've always had man or bleeding problems with any operation where I was given blood - my body was rejecting it.
So they are now organising for me to donate bloodevery month to be stored just for me. That way I can have an autologous transfusion if needed.
Never do anything the right way do I?

Hope you are all muddling along ok.
Speak soon(ish)
Rita
