Now my kidneys are starting to fail. Dont want to know what happens next. Pain is now present in all kinds of areas. I dont take pain pills.found out in social security hearing. Ive been diagnosed also with hepatic encephalopathy and no invasive surgery or dental procedures. Was never told that by any of my drs. Im so confused about whats going on.

So sorry to hear that things are not going well for you.

Are you being treated for hepatic encephalopathy, many people on this site are being treated with lactulose for that? Have you only seen one doctor for your condition? Perhaps you might look into another opinion from outside the practice you currently are in. I guess the Social Security hearing to see if you were eligible for disability and I don't know that they would look at whether or not your treatment is best.

If you didn't know that your were diagnosed with HE, it might be that you need to see a new doctor.

Yes lactulose and rifaximin for he. Social security med expert done his job well. All drs I have seen has looked at me in a disbelieved look. They all look at me wierd.

Hi Jeff. If there are things you want to know about your condition you MUST ask the docs as and when you see them. Their job is to treat patients symptoms and cure them as best they can and are at times too busy to explain what their findings and diagnosis are. However, if you ask them and keep asking questions they will answer you in as much detail as you push for. If you don't ask information won't be forthcoming as they will assume you are either not interested or that you already know. You have to work with them and be pro active in order to recieve the care, treatment and information you want and diserve
