Hi all, I've been off alcohol for 11 days now, ππ, the last days, first collapsed hadn't got a clue Why, the next day it was more like a seizure, then later on I went again, yesterday bit of housework and collapsed again, today just putting rubish in the bin, and went completely I was shaking,my legs were giving way i had to stop, but fell sleep on the sofa, is this something new happening is this the start of something that will go, or does it need investigating x
Is this right: Hi all, I've been off... - British Liver Trust
Is this right
U need to see a doctor luv asap or a&e if ur collapsing. No matter what it is wether it goes or not u need to go see a doc cos dnt sound good at all. R ur legs swollen
Its nice that u have a sense of humour like lol but not good laughing about it...jelly legs....did u get diagnosed with anythin cos of ur alcohol addiction b4
I've been in hospital, they blame alcohol, we are not classed as important, the fella in the next bay had a innocuous scratch on his arm, he needed constant nurses to reduce his arm, the only thing was that he had learning disabilities, I'm not preaching who or why gets treatment, I had 2 minutes with the doc he said my obs were fine, I asked about my liver, he said normal, I was stunned called him back told him I had cirrhosis and diabetes plus the day before I drank 3 bottles of wine, impossible to be normal, we are a burden to the nhs.
And no it certainly isnt right.. i wouldnt call collapsing right at all lol
Also wasnt it 11 days yest that u hadnt drank lol so today would b 12? π
Don't you bloody start, I can't count π, erm yes I asked him if he had the Billirubin levels, he said yes, now I might be wrong but I thought when your liver is seriously scarred, they do a gamma gt levels instead he was such a twat, I'm from Leicester in the east Midlands, you know the team that won the premier league at 5000/1 xx
No expert but a slim chance it's withdrawel from alcohol,I had withdrawel real bad now I have a kind of alcohol dementia, passed out alot, theres more but would take forever dont want to bore you, just know alcohol is a pisser.
Hi
Can't believe how you were treated, we should all be treated exactly the same, you could put in a complaint. Take care. Lynne
Iβve been off alcohol 7 yrs now but I remember the first few weeks were hell but 11 days is a great achievement just take it a day at a time have you seen your Gp about with drawl symptoms diazepam can really help good luck and I hope your days turn into weeks and weeks into months and then years
Sugar can also help. There is a lot of sugar in alcohol so your body is missing it?
Hi Foxman555, if you have cirrhosis but you're compensated then it's not unusual to have fairly normal bloods as long as you aren't doing anything stupid. Hope this helps. Take care
It might be alcohol withdrawal seizures which, if left unattended and diagnosed, could lead to death, buddy. I had them so much so that I now have epilepsy, a neurological condition for which I must take medication twice daily. And I've been sober for 8yrs. It is nothing to play around with. God bless.
I commend your trying to do this by yourself but you really need to see a doctor. You could actually might have had a seizure. Not good, Please get some help so that you can be successful in this and be well at the same time. Good on you for trying, being so persistent. You can do it! Just a little help from the doc to keep you safe.
Simple question.....are you remembering to eat? Because if the liver is damaged then it is not making energy. Regular meals with meat, cheese eggs, bread, potatoes, fruit and veg could help? I agree with the others you do sound as if you need professional help to stabilise you. Good luck. JX
Yes, please get professional help, like others have said, I have read it will be well worth it. Take care Lynne
Urm the other day you said you had not drank for 11 weeks, then a post I think yesterday to say and suggest you had a drink, I am having some difficultly comprehending your posts as nothing adds up, I don't know if you are very confused or looking for support, you need professional help to detox and need to reach out,I wish you well
