Surgery tipps
Hi Soso. Everyone is different so I can only relate this to my own experience with Tipps. I had my procedure done 2 years ago due to the fact that I was suffering with bleeding and portal hypertension. I too suffered from swollen legs and confusion/memory loss. They gave me a lot of laxative so I could get rid of any toxins in my body. Family coming to see me and prompting my memory with stories of home also helped. Once you’ve had tipps you given advice about following a diet and I cut right back on salt which helped with the swelling. I did go on to develop HE, but that is being easily controlled by medication and the tipps procedure did stop the bleeding for almost a year which gave me valuable time to improve my health. I hope your dads swelling goes down soon and he becomes a little clearer headed.i wish him and you the best of luck
Thank u so much for the info . So far he is confused and in a lot of pain and we don’t know what’s about to do and not do or what to expect from now on
For me it meant just cutting right back on salt but everyone is different. It might be an idea to ask his consultant as he may require medication. I also remember resting with my feet elevated with pillows for a while. I hope this helps and wish you and your dad the best of luck
