Hi the day after my wifes transplant i walked to her bed and asked where my wife was i am not joking she looked at least 10 years younger she has been eating as she was before all her problems started she has had one visit back to hospital as she got abseces in the liver which can happen on a transplant or non transplant.

only pain is all the tablets to be taken

Life goes back to normal after transplant that is how i feel

Good for you get in there and get it done

I had the TIPPS procedure after having ascities and varicies. This got rid of these problems. The procedure is very safe. The stent can ultimately get blocked, this can be rectified quite easily apparently.

I hope it all goes well.

Glad it went well. The purpose of TIPPS is to divert some of the blood flow around the liver and allow a less restricted flow to the heart. This reduces portal hypertension and prevents potentially very dangerous varicies. It should also prevent fluid build up on the abdomen (ascities).

I had varicies beforehand, after TIPPS I had none at all and didnt even need any routine checks for them.

Best wishes

Paul

Hi I had the tipps procedure when I was in a coma so it saved my life... I had to go back in about six months after to have it adjusted and it doesn't hurt in the slightest...

I did end up with complications after a year or two after it though which was ascities and also h.e. I also ended up with a blood clot in it, but for all that it was needed and helped in the long run.

I hope your procedure goes well and quickly 😊

I had mine done in early May and it seems to be doing its job. Some heart beats after diner and discomfort in my spleen, which appears to have gone down in size by 5 centimeters.
