Sounds like Encephalopathy. Search here for more.
Can be very confusing and you may not remember the details yourself.
Lactose plus Rifaxamin is the normal treatment
Thank you, Dr still saying it's not as I'm not poorly enough!!! Even though you can get a mild form.
It is that panic fear feeling confused I get it got so many different things I asked neuroligist if it was the meningioma in me head but he said no he thought it was the c-PTST . I thought it was me liver me nerves or the brain I no it's horrible love to you X
They take your driving licence away if they suspect HE.
Hi how's everyone doing
I haven't driven for years cos of my meds and lack of sleep, then when I wanted to renew my license to have photo id, I explained to them about not driving cos if meds and also lack of sleep, they asked me to send it back and said I could have another one if I became well again. Take care Lynne
thank you...that's interesting. My husbands consultant appears to be of the opinion that the DVLA should change their rules and take away the licence for mild HE, which she has done with him. It has devastated our lives and whilst 3 months ago he had been a busy interested person with hobbies, who was not quite as well as he would have liked, he has become a housebound isolated, disinterested at having lost his independence and I am furiously angry that we were not allowed to manage his health towards driving. I drive, but he enjoyed doing the local stuff and chatting to people. I am pleased you have got your licence back. Enjoy JX
I haven't got mine back, can't have it for a long time !! Take care xxxx
I'm the fool that lost licence 15 yrs ago and refused to drive again but could not drive as of blackouts and meningoma in head .
I stopped driving fairly early on because I didn’t recognise roads or junctions I’d driven a thousand times before. Tough decision as I’m a car lover but I couldn’t live with myself if I caused an accident because I couldn’t comprehend something.
Had to give up motorcycling as well ☹️
I haven’t driven for over 2 years because of HE and not feeling well enough to drive. I am lucky in the sense I can still get about though through public transport. I get the bus wherever I need to go. If you have a condition that stops you from driving you can find out about a disability bus pass. I also use the money I save on petrol to pay for a taxi when I’m unwell or need to get somewhere that you can’t reach by public transport. It is hard at first when you can’t drive but you do get used to it.
Yes, that's very true. Thank you. Xxxx
