Hi. I had a Liver transplant in September 1995 and so I am coming up to 23 years post transplant. The damage to my existing liver was caused by Hepatitis A. [It's quite rare to get liver failure from Hep A]. I remain extremely grateful to my donor and to continue my success wish to make contact with other lengthy survivors who are willing to share the secrets of their longevity, success, limitations, side effects of medication, protocols, diet, other related illnesses caused by the transplant, etc etc.

I’m only a newbie, 10 months in. When I hear people like you with 23 yrs under your belt I feel so happy for you, and me. Whereas this time last year I wasn’t sure to survive to transplant now I know there is no reason I shouldn’t be here in 20 or 30 years time. Continue staying healthy!
My partner is coming up to 2 years in July so not exactly long survivor. However it's wonderful to hear your story. Gives us all hope for the future & like you we are so so so very grateful to the donor family for this chance of life. xx
