So if my tummy gets bigger I wont be able to sit behind my desk or drive! lol
Every night I go to be and my tummy is HUGE I mean really big, solid, tight and sore. The morning I wake up and it's reduced in size a little. I go through the day and it expands again (I have just undone the buttons on my trousers....) whatever I put into my mouth (Get your mind out of the gutter...lol) FOOD obviously and or tea/coffee my tummy seems to swell. So I am wondering if this might be a dairy thing, or wheat. Has anyone chopped and changed their diets to see what suits them better? I think I might have to try and cut out milks, bread, butters etc and try going dairy free.....

At the end of last year my consultant suggested cutting things out of my diet to see if anything helped my stomach as I have the same problem with severe distension , tightness, bloating etc. Rather than trial and error I had some allergy tests which resulted in me being slightly intolerant to wheat. I tried going gluten free and drinking peppermint tea but to be totally honest it didn’t help at all.
The only thing that helps me is having a tipsagram where they stretch my stent which immediately releases the pressure and all bloating disappears - albeit only for a couple of months!
Thank you. I have A LOT of ascites. I think I am just getting annoyed. 2 years ago I was a size 14 and mega happy now I look like a mini bus! lol...I shall pay around with my diet! thank you x
Hi Chelle. I think you've answered your own question. Experiment ☺
Hi chelle, oh my tummy gets bloated and big soon as i have eaten breakfast.
I was on a gluten free diet by choice 2 years ago, i lost weight but i mean 2 stone ! I stopped only because it became expensive.
Do you not have ascites? Boy i remember my second bout of that it got so bad i could not eat, sleep, walk, etc. Then i went tachycardic and was admitted to hospital where i stayed for 4 weeks . I would say it's the ascites hun more than diet xx
I do have ascites, tummy and legs. I know I don't need to mess around with anything but I just feel like I'm getting bigger and bigger. It's exhausting! lol x
Yep! Thing is chelle there is only so far you can go with ascites that it becomes that bad you just can't do anything at all. The breathing was a problem for me . May be you could get a drain done ? Xx
I’m exactly the same Chelle. I think it’s not too bad in the morning, by tea time I look 6 months pregnant.. I don’t know if it’s all ascites(which I have too) as I don’t think it would go up and down so much.. something is making me bloat.. just not sure what..good luck with the experiments 😂👍🏼💕😘
Never had a tablet or balloon. I was sedated and tested when they did my endoscopy. They did a biopsy too. My tummy is eroding. Not really sure what that means! Lol I can’t live without a stomach....well not really! I like cake!!
My stomach is huge. Pot belly even. My GP said that my organs are now swollen with fluid and my pot belly is not fat. My liver doctor says it’s fat??? They still won’t solve the problem. I’m starting to lose about 2kg a week so far but nothing off my bloody belly. There is not enough free fluid on my belly to get it drained. Instead of fighting over what the cause of the problem is, they should try and get rid of the fat stomach.
Cheers,
Brett
I agree, Brett. My consultant always asks why I haven't lost weight!! I tell him I'm eating the right foods, the only exercise I can do is swimming because I can take the weight off my feet then. He asks me as though it's my fault, I out him straight on that one!!! I was tested years ago, do you think I should be tested again? Take care Lynne
At my last ultrasound, I was told I didn't have ascites but do sometimes feel a bit bloated. I take Dandelion Root capsules or drink Dandelion tea. It seems to help with fluid retention but guess you should check with your GP as to whether it's safe for you to take.
