Liver Function

Just got blood test back and was told liver function high 117 could this be the reason why I feel so tired all the time

Hi Fem120, this is something you need to follow up with your doctor. Whilst fatigue can be a symptom in liver issues it could be any number of other things too. Seek follow up from your doctor and also find out which specific test from your liver panel is elevated - there isn't one single liver function test, LFT's include a whole array of different tests & results.

Liver function tests include a host of different individual tests, each which has a different range for normal. GGT, AST, ALT.... each of these tests is used to help a doctor hone in on what might be going on more specifically with the liver. But they are not exact 'Positive/Negative' tests... that is, they cannot concretely say that something is right or wrong. Rather, they help a doctor determine where to look. For instance, you might have an elevated AST but a normal ALT. AST can be elevated because of liver issues... but also cardiac and skeletal muscle issues. The ALT is a more 'liver specific' value.

As other posters have said, you need to discuss with your doctor what values were elevated and what he/she feels they might indicate.

If that’s the alt phos it’s not that high.
