Liver function High

Hi

Am new to group ... i am 30 i am a diabetic also suffer form an utoimmune disease Graves disease witch effect the thyroid ... whet to doctoers routine blood test show high liver function and platelets.. so waited a week and had test done again and it come back worse !! Now my GP wants me to get an ultersound sound. I dont smoke or drink Had problems in past with fatty liver told me was down to my diabetes. Am so worried that could be cancer or live disease 😪

Hi there!

The best thing is to not stress yourself out. The ultrasound will show whats going on. It may be that your fatty liver has gotten worse maybe. If you are overweight then losing weight will help massively and try and exercise regularly if you can. I am overweight but lost over 2 stone since my appointment with the consultant and have another ultrasound in July so I'm hoping my liver has gotten better.

Thank you for replying.. 2 stone wow thats amazing congratulations .. i have graves disease and with that come anxietys it killing me ... i hope everything gose well for you 🙏

Graves' disease can cause high platelets and liver enzymes.

Thanks for your reply... really i never knew that. Am also on PTU i was only ment to be on it for a year and it been nealy 3 so my GP had advised me to come off it she going to get in touch with my endocrinologist.

As a precaution, be on the lookout for fibrosis. Have them run tests.

The best time to run the tests (Fibroscan) is after the doctors have gotten the inflammation under control.
