7 months since I last had my steroids reduced and you forget how it makes you feel ... I have gone from 10 to 5 mg this week and I have been feeling so low just wanting to avoid the world and I couldn't understand why until I thought I would look though my old posts and low and behold it's all there recorded another reason I am glad for this site it's like my own personal diary and I know now I am not going mad (well not anymore than what I am lol) ... At least it will pass until the next drop

Hope everyone doing as well as can be 😍

Taking a long time to come off steroids... Mine were stopped within 3 months of the transplant I think. Don't remember having any horrible side effects from them though? If anything I was feeling randy all the time πŸ™„.

If you have been on steroids (I assume you mean Prednisolone or something similar) for a while your body stops producing the approx 7 mg a day it usually produces. It takes a while for your adrenal glands to start to work again. Have a look at the PMR site here where loads of people have been on steroids for long periods. They suggest that under 10 mg you should reduce very slowly, about 1mg at a time, to give your adrenal glands a chance to start producing cortisol again without you feeling so bad.

Thanks for the reply x I have been reading up on it after I started feeling low I need to come down in quite big doses at moment as I have a virus and consultants said reducing immuno suppresents will help in supressing the virus... I am also having an iron infusion tomorrow so I hoping it's going to balance things out a bit πŸ™‚
